About Footprints...

Footprints' itineraries are concentrated in the highlands of the Great Rift Valley, the progenitor of the solitary volcanic peaks, the escarpments and the expansive plains.
There is probably no other region in the world where the hot and dry of the desert, the floral richness of the rain forest and the stark cold of the Arctic are within a few driving or even walking hours of each other. <continued>

About Footprints Tours

Footprints Tours organizes trips to the three countries of East Africa: Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Most of the trips are escorted from Canada, particularly those with complex wide ranging itineraries. A purely mountain hiking trip may not need an escort, depending on the circumstances and the needs of the clients. An experienced escort brings a perspective to the experience that augments what the local guides offer.

There are sample itineraries on this website which suggest some of what is available, but most trips are
customized to your particular interests or specifications. While we will put together the itinerary you want, we encourage people to opt for a broad experience, which would include some of game parks, mountains and urban areas. The emphasis will be on the aspect you want.

Trips will be scheduled according to your time-frame, but in order to get the most out of your experience, we recommend that it be at least two to three weeks. While specific attractions, such as Mt. Kilimanjaro, vary the price, an 18-day trip excluding airfare, tips and discretionary expenses would be approximately $4,000 Cdn.

As the name Footprints Tours suggests there is an orientation to experiences that can be enjoyed walking. Occasionally there are other activities such as boat rides and camel excursions. But the itineraries are tailored to the desires of the people, often with options to suit different abilities and inclinations.

Footprints Tours has used the same highly experienced African staff for several years. Providing employment for people in these countries is a conscious intention of the company.

All particulars about the trips come through Footprints Tours, however the booking is with the Heming Travel Group, a long established travel agency based out of Burlington, Ontario.
